Dear Mr Matt Stampe,
Please, I am very keen to establish contact with Cheng Man Ching stylists in Thailand, especially those who are descended from GM Yap Siu Ting (Yue Shu Ting), a senior student of Cheng Man Ching. GM Yap, together with GM Huang Shing Shyan, were the fathers of Tai Chi Chuan in Malaysia.
Please, if you can, get contact edtails - names, phone, emails for us. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for creating this site! I learned Professor Cheng’s style beginning in 2003 when living in Melbourne FL from a teacher named Dominic (can’t remember his last name as I write this), and have continued since. It helped a back injury from my military service that nothing else I tried could, and has helped me to improve my life overall in so many ways.

Hello dear friends.
This a commentary to Mr Miller’s article on Cheng Man Ching Tai Chi Chuan and with the purpose of stimulating further commentaries and exchanging of different opinions on this subject and first of all to advance our practice.
Before starting, I must say that I know well Mr Miller’s journey in the world of internal martial arts, and that I appreciated very much his work on editing Cheng Man Ching New York footage, even if I would prefer that he could have published the entire document even if it has a poor quality as I saw it previously on the Third European Cheng Man Ching Forum Italy shown by Professor’s daughters.
I red Mr Miller article on Cheng Tai Chi and his insights about it and I, once more, understood that the Cheng Man Ching tapes were, and are going to be in the future to come, a turn point, not to say a revolution, in the practice of tai chi in the modern world.
First, it enable the majority of modern Professor Cheng Man Ching Tai Chi practitioners to contact directly with Cheng teachings, free from the intermediary experiences of the former generations and even direct students of Professor.
What we can immediately see is that the practice of Tai Chi is amazing simple (and not easy) but definitively profound(as Ed Young says, the profoundness of his teachings results in how much you can see in it) and free from artificial elements that the so called teachers, champions, authors and masters of today sell to the common practitioner.
An almost directly consequence for everyone who can see through images and words is that those so called masters are just exercising their egos andmisleading people - so they would be better to disappear and return to the condition of students(a primary condition to advance on practice as well in life). As a matter of fact it is really amazing how many masters exists nowadays (as Mr Robert Smith says, there are nowadays more teachers and masters that students).
Second, all the Professor teachings are the directly expression of Tai Chi Classics and not any other artificial rhetoric. So as Professor says, there are no secrets just practice, practice and practice following classics as said by TT Liang, one of his closed door followers.
At last but not the the least, one might follow ancient true masters like Cheng and not elaborate and intellectualize his teachings, as Mr. Miller does in his article, as he suddenly had discovered the golden elixir of Tai Chi. Once more, one might invest in loss, decreasing oneself and stepping without footprints.

Many thanks for this site, there is some incredible information here. I have been practicing Yang Style Tai Chi for many years. Cheng Man Ching has been my constant companion in spirit, and through his teachings and arts. I always put his picture on the wall or on my computer for inspiration. I also feature him on my blog off and on when I expound on Tai Chi and other forms of Chinese arts. I have studied hard and soft styles from Kung fu San soo, to aikido, but Tai chi is and always will be a constant in my life. I am into Taoism and believe that Cheng was tapped into “The Way,” however you can call it by any name you choose. But like Lao Tzu said, how do you describe that which cannot be described. I guess “The supreme Ultimate” would be a good start.

My thanks and appreciation for this fine website! A sincere and worthy tribute to Professor Cheng-Man Ching, who still today inspire so many people to better ourselves through the practice of the gentle art.
To all of you who have worked and contributed on this website, thank you ever so much!
Best regards,
Andreas R.
